Brothers and Sisters --

Your union negotiating team is pleased to report that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which was ratified by 75% of the members of AFSCME Local 619, was signed yesterday by both President Nick Melendrez and Vice-President Adrian Ponce! Unfortunately, Chief Negotiator Adam Acosta had a recent loss in the family and is now on a brief bereavement leave. He is scheduled to sign the MOU as soon as he is back in a few days.

Feature story on our Union's Own President and Cerritos native Nick Melendrez, as published on Patch... Read all about it here! Share it on Facebook!

WE MAKE CERRITOS EXCEPTIONAL

In moral victory, AFSCME Local 619 members tell the City, “We just want to be respected at the bargaining table.”  Still, Council majority votes 3-2 to impose contract terms on Local 619 members

TIMELY MERIT REVIEWS

It has been brought to the Union’s attention that many employees have not received their reviews and/or material increases. If you or anyone else you know has not received their merit review and has not received their step increase, please e-mail us names of employees affected. The Union is currently taking the appropriate action to address this very serious issue for our members, and the union needs the information necessary to take further action. Names will only be shared with AFSCME Council 36 and will be kept confidential. Action taken by AFSCME will be with your permission only.
